I did it!

So, I actually broke down and braved the wilds of B&H to purchase my new camera. With the prospect of a nice IRS refund, I decided to upgrade from my point and shoot (which took kickass pics) to a semi-professional camera, the Nikon D5000. It's got lots of features I haven't even stumbled upon yet. However, my first week of test shots are coming along nicely. I'll post some of the shots soon. One thing I didn't realize when upgrading: these DSLR cameras are heavy! Time to work those guns!

BTW, my experience with B&H was nothing but positive. I know some people knock it because they're shomer shabbat, but everyone I peppered with my thousands of questions were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and didn't treat me like the total noob I am. I wanted to go eat matzoh ball soup with the sweet old Orthodox guy who worked in the camera bag department.
